MONTHLY MONITORING

Website & Email Perimeter Monitor

Four things quietly decide whether your website and your email keep working: a certificate that expires, a domain that renews, the DNS records that stop someone emailing your clients in your name, and whether the site answers at all. Every one of them is fine right up until the day it is not. We check all four every month, from the outside, and tell you what changed.

Check your domain free, right now → No signup, no email address. It runs the same checks this report does.

WHAT WE ACTUALLY CHECK

Every check is made from outside your network, against public records we do not control, on the day of your report. Nothing is installed and we need no access to your site, your DNS or your email.

1 · YOUR HTTPS CERTIFICATE, AND HOW LONG IT HAS LEFT

We connect the way a visitor's browser does and read the certificate: who issued it, whether it is trusted, whether it matches your address, and the exact date it expires. Certificates now last 90 days or less. When one lapses, every visitor meets a full-page security warning instead of your business — and the people who find out first are your customers.

2 · CAN SOMEONE SEND EMAIL IN YOUR NAME?

We read your public SPF and DMARC records and report the policy, not just whether a record exists — a DMARC record set to p=none instructs receiving servers to do nothing at all. Without an enforcing policy, anyone can send mail that appears to come from your address to your own clients. The same records decide whether your invoices land in the inbox or in spam.

3 · YOUR DOMAIN REGISTRATION, AND WHETHER THE SITE ANSWERS

When your domain comes up for renewal, straight from the registry, plus whether the site responds over HTTPS and whether plain http:// is redirected rather than served in the clear. A lapsed domain takes the website and the email down together, and the renewal notice goes to whichever address registered it — which, years later, is often nobody's inbox.

4 · WHAT CHANGED SINCE LAST MONTH

The part a one-time checkup cannot give you, and the reason this is a subscription. A certificate that renewed — or did not. A DMARC policy that was tightened and then quietly reverted during a mail migration. A redirect that stopped redirecting. We hold last month's readings and report the differences.

ALSO INCLUDED · AI ASSISTANT READABILITY

Your report also carries what it always has: whether your robots.txt lets the 14 crawlers that feed AI answers read you, whether your pages carry the structured data those assistants use. We check it because it is worth knowing. We stopped leading with it because, on most small-business sites, there is nothing wrong with it — and we would rather tell you that than sell you a worry.

You also tell us the searches your buyers actually type — up to 15 — and each month we look for you on page one and name who did appear instead. We search Bing and DuckDuckGo, and the report says which one answered. If neither could be read that month, it says “not checked” rather than telling you that you have vanished.

WHAT WE DO NOT CLAIM

We do not have a private window into ChatGPT's or Claude's ranking, and neither does anyone who tells you otherwise. Every line in your report is something we observed on your site or in public search results on the date shown. Where a check could not be completed — your server was down, a search returned nothing we could read — the report says “not checked this month” rather than turning our failure into a finding about your business.

Start monitoring — set the number of sites

Straight with you: the price is simply CA$99 × the number of sites — three sites is CA$297, and there is no volume discount. I would rather quote you the flat rate I can stand behind than advertise a bundle price I have not built the billing for. Need more than 25 sites? Email me.

At checkout you set how many sites you want watched, then enter them (comma separated) plus any searches your buyers use — that is the whole setup. Your first report is produced within one business day; after that it arrives monthly. Prices in Canadian dollars. Questions first? [email protected].
